1. Shipping/Receiving Clerk - experience necessary

Responsible for all aspects of logging orders, routing, shipping, and tracking of outbound orders of large fabricated steel components and structures. Contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is shipped within required schedules. Prepares and verifies relative documents like bills of lading.

Must be a well-organized and detail-oriented team player. You must be flexible and able to work well under time constraints in a fast paced environment. It is also important for you to be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

 

Job Duties include but not limited to:

  • Arrange for shipments including large fabricated steel components and structures by interfacing with transporters.
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and input shipment information into computer system.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weights or measurements of items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders or other records.
  • Receive and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Operate company vehicle to deliver and pick up small items as needed.
  • Assist with loading of steel components and structures as needed.
  • Data entry of shipping information and creation of shipping documents from business software including bills of lading, packing lists, etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Good computer skills to accomplish daily tasks.
  • 3 years prior production and inventory control experience a plus.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to professionally interact and communicate with coworkers including production staff, office staff and management.
  • Ability to professionally interact and communicate with clients, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and daily work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals.
  • Ability to meet shipping schedules.
  • Ability to multitask on a consistent basis.
  • Previous loading experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent driving record and possess the ability to successfully pass the ODOT physical exam.

 

Physical Demands

  • Moderate to heavy physical activity. Requires handling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing and/or walking for more than six (6) hours per day.
  • Require the ability to maneuver in a shop or yard assembly environment.
  • Extensive walking, sitting and standing, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, crouching, twisting, and stooping are often encountered.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as operating equipment, climbing on trailers and operating motor vehicles.
  • Work involves exposure to outdoor elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust and/or loud noises.
  • Constant awareness of peripheral activity is necessary, with a mindfulness of not only personal safety, but the safety of people in the vicinity, and product and shop equipment.

2. journeyman fabricator / fitters

The position of Journeyman Fabricator / Fitters for Fought & Company will provide the opportunity to work on some of the area’s largest construction projects. Position responsibilities include:

 

  • Must read and interpret all drawings/sketches; layout and assemble structural steel and bridge girders w/speed and accuracy without supervision.
  • Must identify steel shapes, layout and fit beams, columns, show weld size, piece marks, direction marks, etc.
  • Must know burning, welding, and cranes.

3. licensed electrician

Structural steel fabricator is seeking a Licensed Electrician to perform electrical maintenance and repairs in our Tigard, Oregon plant. Must be actively licensed in the State of Oregon as an: Limited Supervising Electrician (PS) or Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrician (PJ) with the following qualifications:

 

  • Working knowledge of the current NEC
  • Experience in the following:
  • Relay logic
  • PLC logic
  • CNC controls
  • VFD’s
  • Hydraulics
  • Overhead crane maintenance
  • Electrical construction
  • Wound rotor motor maintenance
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Working knowledge of PC’s and networking
  • Willingness to help with Mechanical breakdowns
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Able to run and work from the following:
  • Manlift
  • Scissorlift
  • Dedicated to working safely
  • Possess required hand tools
  • Ability to manage a Master Permit Program

4. maintenance mechanic

Structural steel fabricator seeking experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair all shop equipment including hydraulic systems, overhead cranes and welding equipment in our Tigard, Oregon plant. Perform light machining. Prefer Limited Maintenance Electrician License. Salary DOE. We are a union shop with excellent benefits. Will be required to pass pre-employment drug screen.

5. welder / fitter
